2010 Citywide Pride Calendar of Events

Welcome to Citywide Pride 2010!

Citywide Pride, now in its 9th year, is a series of workshops, performances, and networking events sponsored by Chicago area organizations to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace, share best practices, raise awareness of important issues, and celebrate the contributions of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people to the workforce and the community.  Citywide Pride is organized by Out & Equal Workplace Advocate’s Chicagoland Regional Affiliate Board.

Events are open to all employees of the participating organizations, so please share the calendar with your co-workers.  You must register in order to attend an event-- simply click on the active link for each event and fill out a short form.

The calendar is also posted and the links are active on the Out & Equal Chicagoland Groupsite page (https://oechicagoland.groupsite.com).  Be sure to check those sites regularly for upcoming Citywide Pride events scheduled for later in the year.

1.     Because You Know Me

“Because You Know Me” has been created from the words of twenty people who address gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual inclusion from a variety of perspectives. The play speaks to a reality that can be applied to anyone who has had to face the question of whether to share an aspect of themselves in a work setting. As long as people have to hide part of who they are, their ability to bring their whole self to work and to be fully engaged is compromised. The stories and experiences shared in this play allow audience members to find both commonalities with each individual as well as to appreciate and value different perspectives.
